Steven F. Weinstock

Steve provides strategic advice on the development, acquisition, maintenance, and licensing of patents and related intellectual property for the firm’s chemical and biotechnology clients. He has extensive experience in patent practice, licensing, and mergers and acquisitions in the U. S., as well as in Europe, Japan, Canada, and Brazil.

Previously, Steve had a distinguished 22-year career at Abbott Laboratories, the last ten of which he served as Vice President, Chief Patent & Trademark Counsel. During his tenure at Abbott, he led the Patent and Trademark Department that supported the research, development, manufacture and marketing of pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, nutritional and medical products.

He is the former President of Interpat, an organization of chief intellectual property counsel representing major European, Japanese and U.S. research-based pharmaceutical companies.
