About Mark V. Polyakov
Mark is a member of the Firm's Life Sciences Group. He focuses his practice on intellectual property matters in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields. He has extensive experience with many aspects of intellectual property law, including U.S. and foreign patent and trademark procurement and the preparation of freedom-to-operate, invalidity, and infringement opinions. Mark has also provided clients with strategic advice aimed at maximizing the value of their IP portfolio. Mark's primary technical expertise is in the areas of biochemistry and pharmaceuticals.
Previously, Mark worked as an intellectual property associate at Athersys, a biotechnology company in Cleveland, Ohio.
Mark is involved in the intellectual property law community. He has co-authored several legal articles and is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago.
Mark is admitted to the Illinois and New York bars. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Mark is fluent in Russian and has a working knowledge of Italian.
